It´s one of my favourite chill out places,to drink a coffee or whatever and just sit back and relax.

Countdown to Øya!!!

BEIRUT

The EPs and the albums by Beirut are largely the work of Zach Condon, a young Santa Fe, New Mexico native.

Condon has recorded before: when he was fifteen and under the name of Realpeople, he made an electronic record, fashioned after his love for The Magnetic Fields. Condon was a straight-A student until he dropped out at the age of 16 to travel Europe in a drunken haze, cavorting and partying with the locals wherever he ended up. It was during one of these evenings that he was first exposed to Balkan music (notably including the Boban Markovic Orkestar), blasting from the upstairs apartment. Condon ended up with the Serbian artists all night, going through albums country by country, note for note.

Beirut had to cancel theyre show last year, but are set to play on the 15th at Enga at 19:40.

Countdown To This Years Øyafestival!!!

As we are waiting for this years Øya to make us all dance, make love and get drunk (hopefully in the sun), were gonna countdown the days untill its starts by introducing a few of this years artists here everyday!!!

First up Norways very own:

DATAROCK

Many moons ago, atop one of seven mountains surrounding a picturesque Norwegian countryside, two scruffy-faced individuals-Fredrik Saroea and the man known simply as Ket-Ill, made a pact to alter the face of contemporary music as we know it by single-handedly transforming themselves into what they called the peak of pop evolution.

A big undertaking, but somebody had to do it.

“In Norwegian, you would call a computer a ‘data machine,’” Saroea explains. “So in the beginning, Datarock was making fun of all the rock people that thought electronic music was simply computer-generated music. But in English, ‘data’ means information, which is even more appropriate because Datarock is essentially the product of 30 years of the information society. But for some reason, we’re constantly going back to the years between 1977 and 1982.”

DATAROCK is scheduled to play on friday 14th at Enga at 19:40!!! And this is one show youre not gonna wanna miss…

SATYRICON

Satyricon is a Norwegian black metal band founded in Oslo, Norway in 1990. Satyr has said “the music is rock based but more extreme; it is black metal pushing the boundaries that began with bands like Venom and Bathory, reinventing ourselves based on a foundation of rock oriented black metal is our philosophy.”

SATYRICON is set to play on wednesday at 22:00 at sjøsiden!!! And its gonna fill up fast so be early… And girls in high heels might wanna consider standing in the back as this concert normally includes jumping, pushing, stagediving and crowdsurfing…. Good luck to you all…

After some insain partying the last couple of weeks, I left Barcelona to work in Oslo for a while… From here im going to keep you all updated together with Erlend, on what Oslo has to offer the next couple off months.. We are all warming up to this years Øya festival and personally I cant wait to see Mew live again… Along with Band of Horses for the first time..

We understand that this frustrates you time and time again, because sometimes you want to talk to share and get someone else’s take on a situation—you know, put a listening ear on it. But seriously? That’s what your girlfriends are for. You lay out your problem and she’ll commiserate with you—give you all kinds of “yeah, girls” and “I know that’s right,” and nod and agree and tell you stories about how the same thing happened to her. She’ll even go on to give you concrete examples of every other time something like this has happened to other women throughout the history of the world, and, hours later, you all will get up from the couch, having solved nothing but feeling so much better.

Good news:Me and my boyfriend found the perfect flat!!!
